Student Spotlight

West Washington is proud to spotlight senior Chloe Gramlin. Chloe is a dedicated and accomplished student at West Washington. Throughout her time in school, Chloe has demonstrated a strong commitment to her academics, consistently maintaining her grades all while proudly representing her school in clubs and extracurriculars.

“Chloe is a fantastic musician. Although she has an incredible talent, she does not rely on talent alone. She gives 110% and works very hard to grow her abilities. She is and will continue to be a huge asset to any music department!” explained West Washington Music Director, Hannah Ledgerwood.

Academic Achievements: Chloe has been a member of the Performing Arts program for the past three years. She has honed her skills in classes such as Guitar, Musical Theatre, Pep Band, Choir, and Piano, which have all been instrumental in preparing her for her future career as an Elementary Music teacher.

Dual Credit Classes: In addition to her academic achievements, Chloe has taken advantage of many dual-credit classes, effectively kick-starting her college career. This proactive approach has allowed her to reduce her time in college from four years to three, setting her on an accelerated path to success.

Extracurricular Activities: Chloe's high school experience has been enriched by her active participation in various extracurricular activities. She has been a vital part of the Drama Club, Cheerleading team, Track and Field, and Solo and Ensemble. Her talent and dedication in Solo and Ensemble have earned her several gold medals at both regional and state levels for her vocal and instrumental performances. Furthermore, Chloe's leadership skills were on display when she was elected President of the Drama Club's Thespian Society troupe.

Future Plans: After high school, Chloe plans to attend Indiana University Southeast (IUS) to major in Music Education earning several scholarships based on her exceptional performance and numerous awards. She chose IUS for its convenient location, smaller class sizes, and the opportunity to earn an IU diploma without incurring student debt.

How has West Washington prepared you for your future: Reflecting on her time at West Washington, Chloe appreciates how the school has prepared her for the future. The classes related to her career aspirations and the dual credit options have been invaluable.

"West Washington has provided me with the courage to try new things as well as the drive to finish what I start. These lessons will help me to be fully prepared for my future and will benefit me for the rest of my life as a student," explained Chloe.
