The West Washington (WW) High School football team hosted North Harrison for a scrimmage on August 16th. This is a tradition for the team the week before they face their first regular season competition.
“The scrimmage provides a dry run for week one. It is a great measuring stick in a competitive environment against an unfamiliar opponent in front of a crowd,” Jeremy Lowery, head coach of the WW high school football team, said.
Overall the scrimmage was a good experience for the team and they competed at a high level and showed good confidence, said Lowery. This week the athletes and coaches will be preparing to play the Eastern Musketeers.
“This week at practice we must continue to work for more consistency. Taking care of the football and limiting self-induced mistakes will be the keys to a week one victory,” Lowery said.
The Musketeers will have an experienced team returning to the field by retaining starters from the last two seasons. The Senators will be hosting Eastern on August 23rd. The start time for the game is 7 p.m.
