On Friday, August 20th, West Washington (WW) hosted Homecoming, Elementary Cheer Clinic and the Paoli Rams. Homecoming started before kickoff and featured 16 young men and women.
Eli Haley was announced as the heartthrob and Jozie Alexander as the sweetheart. The first runner-up was awarded to Meredith Deaton. Landon Holloway and Abbi Ferguson had the honor of becoming king and queen. The Elementary school was well represented by Kace Blakey and Charleigh Green as our Fall 2024 prince and princess.
The front of the stands was filled with red, white and blue as our young lady Senators cheered for their school. Pom poms were swinging with excitement as the Elementary Cheer Clinic presented the cheer routines they had learned.
Paoli beat WW 42 - 6. After five games the Senators are evaluating their performance throughout the season. “The goal at this point in the season is to take what we have learned from the first five games and to build on the positive and make adjustments to things that need improvement. We feel good about our team from a physical standpoint and we believe we will have success moving forward for the remaining regular season and tournament,” Jeremy Lowery, WW football head coach said.
This week on September 20th the Senators will play North Daviess away. “This will be a good test because we will be required to travel a significant distance and play a good football team. Daviess will operate out of a spread offense which is a style we have not faced yet this season.
We look forward to these challenges and the opportunity to show improvement,” Lowery said. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. in Elnora, Indiana.
