On Saturday, September 28th the West Washington (WW) Senators played North Daviess. The game was moved after concerns about high winds and other weather conditions. By Saturday evening the weather had mainly passed but the sideline was holding puddles of water. The Senators lost 14-6.
“There was very little rain nor wind during the game and the weather was virtually a non-factor. The biggest obstacle was the field conditions from the excessive rain building up to the game,” WW head coach Jeremy Lowery said.
The team held North Daviess to 14 points. “We thought our team competed well and our effort was good. This was a closely contested game and we simply did not make enough game-changing plays to win,” Lowery said.
This week Perry Central will travel to Art Sanders Field. “Perry is on a two-game winning streak and they are a physical football team,” Lowery said.
The Senators will be back at home on October 5th. Kick-off time is 7:30 p.m. and senior night starts at 7 p.m. “This game will be our Senior Night and we are working hard to honor our seniors with a win,” Lowery said.
