The West Washington (WW) Senators beat Shoals in their last regular season competition. The final score of the game was WW 67 and Shoals 52.
“I thought we played really well for four quarters. We are playing our best basketball the last three games leading into sectional. We took care of the ball with 9 turnovers and shared the ball extremely well having 16 assists. We were aggressive all night long getting to the free throw line, shooting 29 free throws. Shoals went on a few runs but I thought we responded very well and did what we were supposed to and closed out the game in the fourth quarter,” head coach Ashton Minton said.
WW will play in sectional on Wednesday the 5th against Christian Academy. The best way to support your favorite team is to cheer them on in the stands. “Our school and community can come out and support these boys on Wednesday night. They have worked hard all year long and are playing the game the right way. Playing at home, we would love a huge crowd on Wednesday night,” Minton said.
Sectional will be hosted this year at home. “The benefits to playing at home are huge. Of course the main advantage is we do not have to load up on a bus and travel. Playing at home also means we get our normal locker room and we play on the court where we’ve played and practiced all season long. Lastly, we’re hoping for a big crowd which would be a big advantage for us as well,” Minton said.
