WWSC has been fortunate to be able to open the school year and although there have been a lot of new obstacles to navigate the staff and students have been doing a great job.
We want to make sure that everyone knows how closely we are monitoring absenteeism and anyone reporting close contacts or covid testing.
Our school nurse, attendance clerks and superintendent are in constant communication evaluating the daily reports. In addition, the school board members are briefed extensively.
We believe that the numbers will fluctuate constantly and that we need to be ready to make a decision in the best interest of our students and our staff at a moments notice.
We ask that families have a plan in the instance that we have to go virtual for any period of time. This may happen if we feel like we need to "pump the brakes" and wait 3-5 days to see the results of covid test or trends of absenteeism.
It could also happen for longer if we are advised by the health department that we have multiple close contacts or we see a trend of symptoms or positive cases.
