Student Spotlight

Academic Accomplishments:  Kye has been on the A/B honor roll all four years and is a member of the National Honor Society.   He will be graduating with technical and academic honors, as well.

Extracurricular Activities:  Kye has participated in football and track all four years.  His football accomplishments include:

Community Service:  Not only does Kye spend time competing in athletics, he has also been involved in his community helping when he can.  Kye has volunteered his time assisting and helping an elderly couple maintain their house and grounds on the weekend.  Additionally, Kye is passionate about helping the West Washington Youth Football Program.  He has spent countless hours working camps and assisting when West Washington is hosting youth games.

Special Classes or Program Involvement:   Kye has taken nine dual credit courses at West Washington; four college-level English classes, three college-level math classes, and two college-level agricultural classes. Eight of these courses fall under Ivy Tech and one under Indiana University.

\r\n

Future Plans after Graduation:  After graduation Kye plans to attend Centre College.  At Centre, Kye plans to obtain a degree in Engineering.  Kye is also excited for the opportunity to play football at Centre College.  

\r\n

How has West Washington High helped you prepare for your future plans:  “It has provided me with a positive and engaging place to learn and play sports that I enjoy and can continue to be successful in,”  explained Kye.  

\r\n

Kye has worked hard to be a great student-athlete on and off the field.  He has left a lasting impression with those who work close with him.  “Kye is a really hard working kid.  He has been very active participating in extracurricular activities and various school activities.  He has worked very hard to improve physically to get the most out of his body.  Kye has developed into a real leader over the years and he has been a pleasure to teach and coach,” explained Offensive Line and Strength and Conditioning Coach, Duane Nance.  Head Football Coach, Jeremy Lowery added, “I am extremely impressed and proud of the example Kye has set for our younger classmen coming up in our football program.  He has proven to be a leader who has the willingness to work hard and be a great teammate.  We are very appreciative of his commitment and dedication to Senator Football.”
