Jr/Sr HS student ISTEP letters were mailed home with Jr/Sr HS student's report cards.
Elementary letters are here at the Elementary Office and will be handed out at the start of school. If you would like the letter sooner you can come to the office to pick the letter up.
The letters give you instructions and a password for Parental Portal where you can see your individual child's scores.
Administrators will be contacting parents of students that they believe would benefit from rescoring based on the individual child's scores on sections of the test.
As a parent you have the ability to submit for a rescore through the Parent Portal. All rescore requests must be submitted on the portal by July 7, 2017.
It is with a heavy heart that I convey to our community the tragic loss of one of our students, Austin Newlin.
Austin was murdered in his home along with his mother and father, Kelly and Danny.
Austin would have been a freshmen next year at WWHS. The loss of Austin and the manner in which he passed is tragic beyond words.
Austin was a goofy 14 year old boy, much like many of our boys. He has been robbed his childhood and adulthood due to something senseless. I was proud to see Austin becoming more active in school, joining the football team and making more friends.
As a school and community we are heartbroken. Please pray for all of those grappling with this loss and the safety of our children in the future.
WWSC will offer grief counseling to anyone from our community that needs it. We will have counselors available on Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am - NOON in the high school. Please call us at 812-755-4872 to schedule a time or come in as needed.

#WWeGrow SENATOR PRIDE
This video starts at our award (21 minute mark), but the whole program represents what is great about schools, students, educators and communities that support them. It is worth a watch!
Thank you Varsity Brands.
PARENTS PLEASE READ-
We have been dealing with a number of problems from the After School App.
This App is NO WAY associated with WWSC. I ask that you please check your child's phone to see if they have this app and remove it immediately.
The App is problematic for several reasons:
1) It is anonymous, and despite the Apps claim that it is monitored and for positive sharing, the anonymity fosters an environment for cyber bullying, inappropriate images and explicit language.
2) When we become aware of a problem on the App and contact the App developers they assure us that they are monitoring and removing material. HOWEVER, we cannot get information about who is involved and the material can remain posted for days before being removed.
3) Despite the App's claim that it has a strict age verification and school verification, adults and younger kids can gain access posing as WW students. The verification is through Facebook and it is very easy to manipulate your age and school affiliation on your Facebook profile.
It is our goal to protect our children and we NEED your help! Discourage the use of this App and check your kids devices for it and other services that do not deter inappropriate activity and bullying.
This is a situation that despite our best efforts we have been unable to handle alone. Mr. Nance is pursuing legal recourse if we have any, but ultimately we need to stop this together because the legal route is lengthy.

Please share with other parents because this is not just a WW problem.
